Bee Sober didn't begin with a business plan. It began with two men, an unlikely friendship, and a shared determination to build something better.
Aaron and B met while incarcerated, surrounded by the very things they were fighting to leave behind. Drugs were being sold, people were overdosing, and destructive patterns continued even more behind the jail walls. But both men had reached a turning point. They'd had enough.
Born and raised in Elyria, Ohio, Aaron spent nearly two decades battling addiction, cycling toxic relationships, enduring homelessness, severe health problems, near-death experiences, and repeated incarceration. His path toward recovery was shaped by a combined knowledge of 12-step programs, extensive therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and a growing understanding of emotional wellness and how to change the thinking and behaviors that had kept him trapped.
B, from Cleveland, had traveled his own difficult road through addiction, destructive behavior, and repeated encounters with the justice system. Like Aaron, he was determined to leave that life behind.
Despite their surroundings, the two formed a friendship rooted in accountability, ambition, and a genuine desire to change. Both were writing books, sharing ideas, and eventually helping organize a small group for others who wanted to break free from the negative influences around them.
Somewhere along the way, a friendship became a shared vision.
For years, B had been fascinated by bees, sketching designs and imagining clothing, stories, and creative possibilities built around them.
Aaron had long envisioned creating a health, recovery, and personal-development brand. During earlier periods of sobriety, he'd developed skills in creative storytelling, video production, animation, graphic design, writing, and digital media, hoping one day to use them to educate, entertain, and inspire others.
Both had entrepreneurial ambitions, but neither had yet brought his vision to life. Together, they saw an opportunity to combine their ideas, creativity, and hard-earned experiences into something meaningful.
And Bee Sober was born.
Today, both remain sober and continue building what they once imagined together. Through creative content, apparel, artwork, and personal-development resources, Bee Sober is growing into a platform dedicated to helping people create positive change in their lives.
Their story isn't about having everything figured out. It's about two people who know what it's like to lose nearly everything, discover a different way to live, and find purpose in helping others do the same.
